Amie Lue Alston Clanton

AMIE LUE ALSTON CLANTON, daughter of the late Eddie Alston and Elnora Goings Alston, was born on June 16, 1937, in Warren County, North Carolina.

She received her formal education in the Warren County Public School System. Upon confession of her faith in Jesus Christ, she was baptized, and joined the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina. She later changed her membership to join her husband at the Greater Ashley Chapel Baptist Church in Vaughan, North Carolina, where she faithfully served as an Usher until her health began to decline.

Amie Lue was united in Holy Matrimony to Amos Clanton, who preceded her in death. She was employed in the Domestic Industry and retired as a loyal housekeeper for Delsie Fanney and the custodian for Stanley White Presbyterian Church.

Amie Lue loved her family, her friends, and her church. She enjoyed asking people to serve on various church programs, then would pass the programs on to her husband for him to complete.

After a lengthy illness, she peacefully departed this earthly life on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at Carolina Rest Home in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.

In addition to her parents and husband, Amie Lue is now also rejoicing in a happy reunion with her son, Larry Clanton; and her sisters, Laura Clanton, Daisy Harvey, and Carrie Robinson.
