Addie Boyd Thorne Taylor “Addie Bea “ was born in Warren County, North Carolina, on April 2, 1938, to the late Andrew Thorne and Dell Boyd Thorne. She departed this earthly life on Friday, June 5, 2015, in the comfort of her home in Littleton, North Carolina.
“Addie Bea” accepted Jesus Christ during her early life and became a member of the Enon Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina. Her formal education was received in the public schools of Halifax County, North Carolina.
“Addie Bea” enjoyed her employment as a Private Duty Caretaker of many patients, and she was also a babysitter. Her home was always open to all neighborhood children where she was “Grandma Addie Bea” to everyone.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Mack Taylor, and her daughter, Alfreda Hedgepeth.
Those remaining to forever treasure her precious memory and share her loving spirit are her children, Charlie and James Taylor of the home; Claretta Taylor of Gaston, NC, Andrew Taylor (Patricia) of Hollister, NC, and Michael Taylor (Doris) of Obernburg, Germany; one brother, Eugene Thorne (Jennette) of Baltimore, MD; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a very special daughter and son of the heart who cared for her until her death, Faye Boyd and Wayne Carter of Littleton, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Saturday, June 13, 2015, in the chapel. Rev. Timothy Edwards will eulogize, and burial will follow in the Enon Baptist Church Cemetery in Littleton, NC. The body will repose at the funeral home on Friday, June 12, 2015, until 8:30 P.M.
